Pendant (for, throughout, during) to speak about a durable and finished action:

J'ai attendu pendant des heures pour visiter la Tour Eiffel.
= I waited for visit the Eiffel Tower during several hours.

Il a été malade pendant tout le trajet.
= He was sick throughout the journey.
